They are a beloved part of everyday life in sunny Los Angeles.

But Katherine Schwarzenegger called for the cities multiple farmer’s markets to be shut down, after growing concerned that they were a ‘huge issue’ amid the coronavirus epidemic.

And now the 30-year-old’s wish has been granted, after LA Mayor Eric Garcetti temporarily shut down the markets due to concerns about overcrowding amid the new social distancing rules.

Katherine had tweeted Mayor Garcetti after he urged Angelenos to focus on the Safer At Home guidelines.

‘The farmers market in Brentwood still being open seems like a huge issue when it comes to social gatherings,’ she wrote.

Her comments came after photos of the crowded market shared by Ethan Klein went viral on social media on Sunday. While shoppers loaded up on fresh fruit and veg while wearing masks and gloves, and were spaced out, the market still bustled, with no crowd control measures visible.

In Mayor Garcetti’s ruling, he stated that the markets could reopen once they had established social distancing guidelines.

‘We can’t risk the spread of this disease,’ he said, while acknowledging the markets seemed attractive  in comparison to the cities grocery stores, which often had shoppers lining up outside.

While Katherine often shops at farmers markets herself, she is currently spending her self isolation with new husband Chris Pratt, 40.

And the newlyweds are getting some quality family time in as they isolate with her mom and siblings.

The couple read from Katherine’s children’s book Maverick and Me on IGTV for children stuck at home during quarantine.

They may be ready for a child of their own soon as Pratt recently told People: ‘She’s, God willing, going to be a great mom one day. She’s got great parents, great siblings, she fills in all my many deficits.’
