Kayla Itsines’ fans threaten to boycott her Sweat app after discovering a ‘private’ forum containing users’ weight loss photos is actually public

Fitness star Kayla Itsines has landed herself in hot water after fans discovered a concerning feature of her popular app Sweat.    

Droves of users have threatened to boycott Sweat in recent days after discovering a community forum, which they believed to be private, is actually public.  

The forum was touted as a supportive place for Sweat users to share their struggles with weight loss and fitness.

However, the Sweat website has been inundated with messages from angry fans encouraging Kayla’s team to switch the forum to private.  

‘Oh wow, had no idea this forum was public. There’s so many of us here who post progress photos & selfies. please consider changing this, @sweat!!’ one fan pleaded.  

‘I had no idea this forum was public. This completely turns me off using this feature’ vowed another person.

Elsewhere, another user wrote: ‘WHAT?! This Forum is PUBLIC?! WTF?! I’m never, ever posting a photo here.’  

On Monday, Sweat posted an official response to the uproar, announcing that it wouldn’t be making the forum to private despite the numerous complaints.   

‘Thank you to everyone for sharing your thoughts and feedback. Given the valuable contribution from every Forum user – many of whom are past members or general community users – we have made the decision to keep the Sweat forum public for the time being,’ Sweat’s official response read.

‘As mentioned in other posts, we have recently implemented several actions based off this feedback and we’ll continue to explore further improvements to the Forum in the new year,’ it continued.

Unhappy users have since labelled Sweat’s response as ‘disappointing’ and ‘sad’.
