Keira Maguire offers a BRUTAL response to Bachelor in Paradise being cancelled

Reality TV ‘villain’ Keira Maguire owes her fame to the Bachelor franchise.

But that didn’t stop the 34-year-old influencer from taking a savage swipe upon hearing the news that Bachelor in Paradise had been cancelled.

Keira slammed the spin-off series and said she was relieved that Channel 10 had pulled it from its 2021 line-up, describing it as ‘such a s**t show’.

On Thursday, Instagram meme account Bachie Funny shared a screenshot of Keira’s comment, which read: ‘Thank God, such a s**t show.’

But it didn’t take long for Bachelor in Paradise star Jamie Doran to accuse Keira of hypocrisy for criticising the show despite appearing on it twice and reportedly earning a $50,000 to star in this year’s season.

His comments sparked a fierce debate in the comments section, with Bachelor fans and alumni weighing in with their opinions.

He added: ‘She’s the biggest bully in the history of the Bachelor franchise.’

Tara Pavlovic, who starred in Bachelor in Paradise’s first season in 2018, replied: ‘You can go on a show and look back at your experience and think it’s s**t.

‘I know from experience I feel the same way as Keira. No need to slam her.’

Jamie dug his heels in, responding: ‘She bags it out, but then keeps coming back [to the franchise]. I’ll keep slamming her whilst she continues with this nonsense.’

He added that Keira was a ‘horrible person’.

Another fan slammed Jamie and called him a ’40-year-old trying to be cool’, to which the FIFO worker replied: ‘Isn’t Keira almost 40?’

Keira, who debuted on Richie Strahan’s season of The Bachelor in 2016, featured in the first season of Paradise in 2018, where she found love with Jarrod Woodgate.

Channel 10 confirmed on Thursday that Bachelor in Paradise will not be returning next year. However, it’s believed the reality TV spin-off will air in 2022.

‘We love all the excitement, drama and of course love that Bachelor in Paradise brings, but we have decided to rest it in 2021,’ a spokesperson said.

Bachelor in Paradise, which premiered in 2018, was noticeably absent from Channel 10’s 2021 Upfronts presentation on Thursday.

Based on the American format of the same name, the reality series brings together contestants from past seasons of The Bachelor and The Bachelorette for a second chance at love.

The spin-off doesn’t usually perform as well in the ratings as the main programs, but its figures were particularly disappointing this year.

Just 539,000 people watched the finale on Sunday, August 9.

Warner Bros. Australia, the company that produces Bachelor in Paradise, is also being sued by Jamie over his negative portrayal – but it’s believed this hasn’t influenced 10’s decision to ‘rest’ the program.

The Bachelor and The Bachelorette will return next year, but filming will take place at a different mansion in Sydney.
