Kelly Rowland gives newborn son Noah, three weeks, a starring role in Black Magic music video

Kelly Rowland gave her three-week-old newborn son Noah a starring role in her new music video for Black Magic.

The 40-year-old songbird could be seen laughing with joy as she cradled her baby, making sure to keep his face away from the camera.

Noah got a kiss on the forehead from his six-year-old big brother Titan in the video, which is a tribute to talented black people in many fields.

Kelly shares both her sons with her husband Tim Weatherspoon, who was her manager before they were a married couple.

The music video includes footage of Kelly dancing in a stylish striped robe with a sky blue pattern against a hedge.

Her sections are intercut with clips of black people excelling in areas including ballet, academics and sports.

Although she shot part of the video after her new baby was born, some of the project was also filmed late in her pregnancy.

In one sequence, which has been scattered in small clips throughout the music video, she sits on a chair and has her baby bump painted.

At first the idea behind the painting is unclear, as the artist appears to just be turning the baby bump blue, green and black.

However as the artwork comes together it emerges that the idea is to paint the bump to look like a globe with Africa facing the camera.

The word: ‘LOVE’ is then written across the top of the continent in a nod to the effusive tone of the lyrics and video.

She announced Noah’s birth a little over a week after the fact, posting a heart-melting Instagram snap of Titan looking down cheerfully at his baby brother.

Noah was 19 inches long and weighed in at 7lbs 8oz when he entered the world at 8:13pm on January 21st, Kelly revealed in her caption.

Kelly, who rose to fame in the girl group Destiny’s Child, announced her second pregnancy early in October when she was five months along.

She made the big reveal in Women’s Health and dished that the coronavirus lockdowns contributed to her and Tim’s choice to have another baby.

‘We had been talking about it loosely, and then COVID happened, and we were just like: “Let’s see what happens,”‘ she explained.

The Atlanta-born musical artist is also looking ahead at the prospect of her fifth studio album, her first since the 2013 release Talk A Good Game.

‘And I was thinking: “Oh my god, my fans are gonna be so disappointed.…They wanted an album first, but they got a baby!” And I was like: “I have to figure this out so they get both,”‘ said Beyonce’s best pal.
