But Kim Kardashian led the rest of the family in moving past the criticism and celebrating her younger half-sister.
The 40-year-old reality star took to Instagram to share a sweet 25th birthday tribute to her model sister by sharing a cute throwback image of a teenage Kim bonding with a very young Kendall.

Kim posted the image with a caption that read: ‘My baby Kenny! I was 16 years old here and you weren’t even a year old. I can’t believe you’re 25 years old now.
‘I always couldn’t wait to see what you would grow up to be like! LOL you were always my baby Kenny doll!’
She went on to gush about their now famous sisters and brother as they have a strong bond while growing up in the limelight.
Kim concluded: ‘I’m so happy all of our siblings found each other in this lifetime! Happy Birthday to the coolest and prettiest girl I know! [three tree emojis]’

Kris wrote a lengthy caption which read: ‘Happy Birthday Kenny!!!! My beautiful girl inside and out… you are such an amazing light in the world and you teach me so much about life each and every day.’

The soirée – which saw the likes of Justin Bieber, Jaden Smith and Winnie Harlow in attendance – came just weeks after Kim Kardashian was met with criticism for flying her family and friends to a private island to celebrate her 40th birthday.

On Monday, Kendall’s mother Kris, 64, defended her party as she claimed protocols were in place for a healthy celebration for all.
The reality star told Andy Cohen’s SiriusXM show about the expansive testing precautions in place for a packed guest list.
‘We are very lucky to work in an industry where we get tested once or twice a week,’ the matriarch said. ‘I just got tested again. I was tested on Friday, because of the network rules while we are filming as you know, so that’s very strict.’
‘Whenever we have a gathering – no matter how big or small – no matter, you know, whether it’s five people or 25 people, you know, or 20 people, we have, like at Kendall’s, everyone got tested before they walked in the door and they had to wait, you know, a half an hour until the testing was, the results were in.’
The businesswoman insisted she ‘can’t control’ the online pushback, as many social media users said the famous family were flouting coronavirus rules.
She added: ‘We do what we can, we try to follow the rules. And then if people are, you know, they’re commenting and they’re being critical, I can’t control that – I just can control how we behave and, you know, try to do the best we can.’
Host Andy – who tested positive for the virus earlier this year – said he underwent a multi-step, coronavirus-friendly process on a recent visit to their home.
The presenter, 52, explained: ‘I will say we, we did something together a month or two ago, and the protocols to getting, it was at one of the girl’s houses, I was sent to a location on the way to the house I was tested.
‘And they said, if you get to the house and the gate opens, that means you tested negative. ‘A half hour later, and that gate went open. I was like, all right, it’s all good. But yeah, you guys are, you guys are quite, you guys are quite careful.’
LA mayor Eric Garcetti had previously vowed to cut off utilities at a separate Hollywood Hills home after it hosted several house parties.
California continues to reel from the impact of COVID-19, with strict social distancing measures still in place across the city.
Gatherings of any sizes that contain people from different households are prohibited under Los Angeles County’s health order for the virus.
