It seems that the looming COVID-19 variant won’t be stopping Love Island from returning this summer – as presenters Laura Whitmore and Iain Stirling shot the promo for the forthcoming 2021 series.
The husband and wife duo were a far cry from the sun-kissed shores of Majorca, however, where the show usually takes place.
Instead, Laura, 36, and Iain, 33, were on location in Barking, East London, where they battled the springtime chill and attempted to emulate more tropical climes.

Laura – who welcomed her first child, a daughter, with Iain earlier this year – donned a sizzling red jumpsuit for the shoot, which took place outside a bar.
She flaunted her post-pregnancy frame in the figure-hugging number, which was left teasingly unzipped at the bust.
She accessorised with a black leather utility belt and aviator shades.
The Irish presenter showcased flawless bronzed make-up and a pop of vibrant red to her pout. She wore her golden locks in wavy lines around her shoulders.

Laura previously admitted she hopes the show – which has been shot in Majorca as well as South Africa – isn’t filmed in the UK.
She insisted the country could benefit from a bit of ‘escapism’ by watching a group of singletons in sunny Majorca after the 2020 series of the ITV2 dating show was cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Speaking on Dublin’s 98 FM station, host Brendan O’Loughlin said he hopes for a ‘miserable and grey’ filming location in a seaside town to ‘shake things up a bit’.
But Laura replied: ‘You say that and then can you imagine ten minutes after watching that, I mean, that’s all we’ve seen. I live in central London and in Ireland or wherever, we see a lot of grey weather.

Love Island was confirmed to return to TV screens this summer as it was announced as part of ITV’s bumper schedule for spring and summer earlier this year.
Kevin Lygo, ITV’s managing director of media and entertainment, explained: ‘There’s so much to look forward to on ITV this spring and into summer, with the Euros and the return of Love Island, but much more besides.’
It was recently reported ITV2 bosses have secured Jersey as a backup location for this year’s summer series if the show can’t be filmed in its regular spot in Majorca.

Back in business! The series is said to be returning from abroad this summer on ITV2
However, Laura admitted she doesn’t know where it will take place as she won’t be told until she is needed on set.
She explained: ‘You probably know more than I do because every time I do an interview, there’s a different article written saying, ‘Oh it’s in Jersey,’ or ‘It’s in Greece,’ or wherever, and I’m like, ‘Is it?’
‘So many people work on Love Island. It’s a huge production, I mean hundreds and hundreds of people, and they have been working on it for the last year since the previous series, so I mean, they know a lot more than I do.
‘I feel like I just show up and swan in when they need me to.’
