Lewis Hamilton was seen arriving at the paddocks for preparations before the 70th Anniversary Formula One Grand Prix at the Silverstone circuit on Thursday.

The award-winning racing driver, 35, stood out in a vibrant outfit while proving safety comes first by sporting a protective face mask.

Sportsman Lewis is heading into the game with a 30-point lead as he goes in search of Michael Schumacher’s record haul of seven titles.

Finnish driver Valtteri Bottas is setting his sights on overtaking Lewis to win his first world championship at the competition. 

The fifth round of the season on Sunday will celebrate 70 years of Formula One. The voice of the competition Murray Walker, 96, called the very first Grand Prix at Silverstone in 1950.   

Iconic commentator Murray recently revealed he believes Lewis will become best F1 driver ever – better than both Michael and Ayrton Senna.

Following his 87th career win at the British Grand Prix on Sunday, the Stevenage native is also now within four victories of the great German’s all-time win tally, too. 

The F1 legend said on the Fast Lane podcast: ‘If you look at it in terms of statistics, Lewis already has more pole positions [91] than Michael Schumacher [68].

‘He has at least three years in him, if he doesn’t hurt himself, leave Mercedes or Mercedes decide to stop’, added Murray, who commentated for the BBC and ITV before his retirement in 2001.
