Reinhart, who has been busy filming Riverdale’s fifth season in Vancouver for The CW, has been outspoken about a number of issues ranging from mental health to women’s reproductive rights to eliminating white privilege.

In October, she spoke with The New York Times about using her powerful platform, as she boasts more than 28.8 million Instagram followers.

‘I had no idea three years ago that I’d be known as the girl who talks about her depression all the time,’ she told the newspaper. ‘Is that something that I necessarily would have tried to seek out? No, but I’m glad that that’s how it happened.’

Reinhart attributed her outspoken demeanor as part of her personality: ‘I’m the kind of person where, if I’m struggling with something, I need to talk about it,’ she said in the interview. ‘That’s the only way that I can get through it.’

Reinhart has appeared on the TV show Riverdale since 2017, playing the role of Betty Cooper on the Archie adaptation.

‘We’re constantly putting poor Betty through the emotional ringer,’ showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa told the paper. ‘Part of the reason is Lili is such a phenomenal, soulful actor and she could handle it.

‘Some characters, we try to add darkness to them, and it didn’t sit right. But with Betty, we found Lili could absorb every trauma and challenge before her and turn that into an incredible performance.’

She’s slated to star in the upcoming Netflix streaming film Plus/Minus, in which she will play a character named Natalie existing in double timelines. One fate exists in her native Texas, where she gets pregnant, while the other fate sees her to move to Los Angeles to help her career.
