Lily Collins makes a special delivery to friend celebrating their birthday

Celebrating a birthday during the pandemic isn’t always fun.

But Lily Collins didn’t let that stop her from brightening up the day of one friend marking another year around the sun on Tuesday.

The actress, 31, beamed with joy as she handed a gift bag to the birthday boy in Los Angeles.

Lily handed off a bag full of goodies to her friend in the middle of the road, and though he was wearing a face mask, no doubt he was smiling at the gesture.

The duo had a chance to chat just outside of Lily’s car, where they both wore face masks to ensure the interaction was a COVID-compliant one.

Lily gave her friend her undivided attention as she stood by her open car door, playing with her hair.

The Emily In Paris star was a vision of comfort in a button down brown sweater, baggy jeans, and white sneakers.

Barely visible was the new engagement ring given to her by fiance Charlie McDowell.

The actress appeared to be wearing a slim gold band upon her ring finger.

The rose-cut diamond was designed by filmmaker Charlie, 37, who collaborated with jewellery maker Irene Neuwirth to create the perfect ring.

Making a virtual appearance on an episode of the US talk show Live with Kelly and Ryan last year, she said of the ring: ‘It’s a rose-cut diamond. Charlie designed it with Irene (Neuwirth).’

‘I was very surprised by it, but it’s exactly what I would’ve wanted and he knew me so well, obviously.’

She also revealed she knew Charlie – who is the son of actor Malcolm McDowell – was the one ‘the second’ they met, but she had no idea when he would propose.

‘I can’t believe I get to call myself a fiancée now. I was very surprised as to when and where it would happen.

‘But it was kind of one of those situations where I knew the second that I met him, that I wanted to be his wife one day’, she shared during the chat.
