Line Of Duty’s Vicky McClure ‘made a staggering £700,000 last year’

Vicky McClure reportedly made an estimated £700,000 in 2020, thanks to her leading role in BBC’s Line Of Duty.

The actress, 36, has starred in the show as DI Kate Fleming since it began in 2012, with the sixth series set to air later this month.

And, according to The Sun, Vicky has had a lucrative few years starring in prime-time TV shows including ITV’s Broadchurch, thriller Hummingbird alongside Jason Statham and The Replacement.

Money, money, money: Vicky McClure reportedly made around a staggering £700,000 in 2020, thanks to her leading role in BBC’s Line Of Duty (pictured earlier this month)

The publication reports that the latest accounts filed on Companies House show a cash surplus of £392,562, £132,564 of which will be taxed.

Vicky is also said to have given herself a £127,000 payment from the account.

It means she earned an estimated £700,00 in 2020, with presumably her hefty salary from Line Of Duty contributing to the eye-watering amount.

The publication states accounts in 2019 showed Vicky had cash reserves of £258,096 and paid herself a dividend of £114,000.

Meanwhile in 2018, the actress paid herself a dividend of £93,000 and in 2017, £121,000.

MailOnline has contacted Vicky’s representatives for comment.

Speaking to iNews in 2017, Vicky said that she and her Line Of Duty male co-stars all get paid the exact same amount.

The BBC had come under fire at the time when it emerged that two-thirds of its talent paid more than £150,000 were men.

The network pledged to close the 10% gender pay gap by 2020.

Vicky said at the time: ‘I know I’m on the same pay as Adrian (Dunbar) and Martin (Compston). It doesn’t matter who gets the most screentime.

‘We all come as a team. It’s not even a discussion. I’d be questioning what kind of production it was if that wasn’t the case.’

Guest lead Detective Chief Inspector Joanne Davidson (Kelly Macdonald) is assigned as the senior investigating officer on the unsolved murder case, but her suspicious conduct attracts the attention of the anti-corruption team.

Shalom Brune-Franklin, 26 — who has appeared in BBC’s Our Girl alongside Michelle Keegan — is the new addition to the AC-12 team as Detective Constable Chloe Bishop.

Some viewers branded the finale of the fifth series, which aired in May 2019 and drew more than nine million viewers, as an ‘anti-climax’, after it was revealed that mysterious criminal mastermind H was in fact code for four people.

So fans will be hoping the show finally reveals the fourth person’s identity — and the teaser suggests it might not be a man they are looking for.

This series of the Jed Mercurio drama features seven episodes, the longest to date.

Line of Duty will return on Sunday 21 March at 9pm on BBC One.
