Lisa Wilkinson has publicly spoken out against people who aren’t wearing face masks in public amid the coronavirus pandemic.

In two social media posts, the 60-year-old slammed ‘maskholes’ and criticised people for not wearing masks in her local Woolworths.

Sharing a selfie of herself in a mask, Lisa wrote: ‘So I headed to my local Woolies in NSW today, and I reckon there was maybe 10% (if that) of customers wearing masks.’

She added: ‘And before you ask, yes I was wearing mine. Anyone else have this experience?’

Before that, The Project presenter shared a shady meme to Instagram about ‘maskholes’.

‘Definition: An a**hole who refuses to wear a mask as part of public health measures designed to prevent people from dying,’ the meme read.

She accompanied it with a lengthy caption offering her support to frontline workers doing it tough during the pandemic.

‘I post this out of complete respect for all those incredibly hardworking frontline healthcare workers, police, border security officers, Bunnings staff and the like who are just DOING THEIR JOBS…’ she wrote.

She added: ‘…And far too polite, patient and professional to ever say this. But I’m not!’

The post received a mixed reception from Lisa’s followers, with some agreeing with her while others defended their right not to wear a mask.

‘Lisa, some people have health issues and are unable to wear a mask, a little judgemental!’ snapped one.

‘You are too polite Lisa – there are many other words I would call them,’ agreed one fan.

Meanwhile, actress Rebecca Gibney commented with three clapping emojis and a love heart.
