Lorraine Kelly grilled Stephen Mulhern about his ‘eye-opening’ gold shorts on Friday’s episode of her ITV chatshow.
The TV personality, 44, appeared on Lorraine to talk about his show In For A Penny but chat soon turned to his eyebrow-raising costume on Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway.
During the episode in February, Stephen got everyone talking after arriving at the studio painted entirely in gold paint with just a tiny vest top and shorts to protect his modesty.

Sharing her own shock over the ‘eye-opening’ ensemble, Lorraine joked: ‘What have you got down there? What’s going on, what is it all about?’
The shocked presenter said: ‘The gold panties thing you had on, it was quite an eye-opener.’
To which Stephen quipped: ‘Some people thought they were watching 3D TV’ with a cheeky Lorraine adding: ‘I bet they did!’
Stephen continued: ‘I never tell Ant and Dec what I am wearing, they never see it until we go live. They are so generous to be honest, they hold back jokes so they are surprised as much as the audience at home.’

Later during the interview, things took an even cheekier turn when the ITV star handed Lorraine a minute gold trophy as he joked about its wherabouts.
Stephen said: ‘That was with me on the night I wore the gold outfit’ to which Lorraine quipped: ‘Oh, where was it? It was a lot bigger than that son, a lot bigger than that!’

She added: ‘That’s made my whole day, whole year!’

In February, Stephen left Ant and Dec in hysterics when he turned up in his risky gold ensemble to introduce the Ant Vs Dec tournament, and pretended to do a back flip with the help of a stunt double.
He joked that he ‘said no’ to appearing on the show but ‘money talks’ before he showed off his painted-on abs to Ant and Dec, who couldn’t stop laughing at his attire for the evening.
Even Olly Alexander, who was the guest announcer for the show, joked that Stephen had upstaged him with his looks, even though the singer planned on changing his outfit every time there was a break.
