‘I wanted to send you a personal message to wish you all well in this terrible time. I hope you’re looking after yourselves, I hope you’re looking after each other, and staying at home.

‘Doncaster is known for its community spirit, Yorkshire grit and determination, and it’s been great to see so much of that during this tough time.

‘With more weeks in lockdown it’s even more important than ever that we keep this spirit going and rally round to support the most vulnerable.’

He then shared details of council resources locals could access during lockdown, and encouraged people to help by taking paid and unpaid roles.

Louis continued: ‘So here is how you can help if you’re able to. More volunteers are needed to support local people, from answering phones to delivering food parcels.

‘I know the good people of Doncaster will answer this call to help others. There are also paid jobs available with full training provided.’

Last week, Louis’ fellow 1D star Liam Payne confirmed he has been ‘speaking’ to his band mates again ahead of their 10-year anniversary this year.

The singer teased that he ‘couldn’t give too much away’ as he spoke to James Corden on the Late Late Show via video chat.

And he revealed to Alesso that he’d been scolded for teasing the reunion.

‘I can’t say too much. Louis told me off for revealing a bit about our plans the other day. So I had a group telling off on the group chat,’ he explained.

Liam did little to quash rumours the band would be reforming to celebrate the milestone, following reports that they would be returning with new music.

He told James: ‘I’m not allowed to say too much obviously because I would be giving it away.’

‘We’ve been speaking a lot more at the moment, I think we are all feeling that that ten year…it’s a very special moment.’

Liam suggested that so far he has only spoken to Louis Tomlinson and Niall Horan on FaceTime recently, while he didn’t mention Harry or Zayn.
