Love Island Australia’s Cassidy McGill hits back at VILE British viewers

Love Island Australia’s Cassidy McGill hits back after being flooded with VILE messages from British viewers over her love triangle with Grant Crapp and Tayla Damir

Love Island Australia’s first season has become a hit in Britain, two years after it first aired Down Under.

But the islanders’ sudden resurgence of fame has its downsides, as former ‘villain’ Cassidy McGill revealed on Thursday.

She faced intense backlash this week after UK viewers saw the episode in which she forced Grant Crapp to couple up with her, when he wanted to be with Tayla Damir.

The 25-year-old shared a few of the horrible messages she’d received on Instagram from trolls calling her a ‘needy psychopath,’ an ‘evil b***h’ and the C-word.

One viewer even told her ‘no one in England likes you’.

But Cassidy hit back at the haters, and publicly blasted them on her Instagram Story for their ‘gross and pathetic’ behaviour.

She wrote: ‘I don’t give a damn if something I did on a TV show two years ago upsets you. This isn’t how you deal with it. So shameful. Do better guys.’

The influencer assured her fans she was doing fine, but would not allow the shocking trolling to go unmentioned.

‘Whatever backlash you face from being named and shamed will hopefully teach these people to not send messages like this,’ she told the trolls.

(Cassidy included the full names of her trolls in her post, but Daily Mail Australia has censored them for legal reasons.)

She went on to say: ‘The way I look at it – the people sending these messages are already losing. Because whoever in their right mind thinks it’s acceptable and normal to send this stuff mustn’t be a great person.

‘And why on earth would I ever take on board their opinions? They clearly already lack class and social etiquette.’

She added: ‘I know those vile humans don’t represent the UK in the slightest. My boyfriend is English and the most wonderful man.’

Cassidy rose to fame on season one of Love Island Australia, which was filmed in Spain and first aired Down Under in 2018.

After Grant dumped her for Tayla, Cassidy tearfully left the Mallorcan villa and returned to Australia.
