Love Island’s Ovie Soko unveils new shaved head while in lockdown leaving fans in meltdown

The nation fell in love with him when he made a late entrance into the fifth series of Love Island in 2019.

And, Ovie Soko, 29, unveiled his new shaved head while in lockdown on Tuesday, leaving Amber Gill worried, fans in meltdown and Ian Wright claiming him as his nephew. 

The basketball player revealed that he’d gotten rid of his tight waves when uploaded the snap to social media, and began trending almost instantly due to the reaction from his followers.

Quick to comment was Love Island co-star Amber Gill, who left fans in hysterics by expressing her concern for Ovie as she wrote: ‘What happened?’ 

Soon after, former footballer Ian Wright got involved, commenting: ‘Welcome nephew’ to highlight how Ovie’s new look unveiled a resemblance between the pair.

The Love Island star’s fans took to Twitter and Instagram in their droves to vent their devastation that the hunk had chosen to shave his head. 

One person responded to the star’s photograph, writing: ‘I’m so confused. What happened? I feel betrayed you know.’ 

Someone else brutally tweeted: ‘Delete it,’ while another follower added: ‘I was rooting for you @OvieSoko,’ followed by crying face emojis. 

Another fan cried: ‘Your waves,’ with a broken heart emoji as someone else tweeted: ‘BRUH WHYYYY,’ again with crying faces.  

And while his followers were overwhelmingly in favour of the star leaving his locks to grow back, other supported his decision to shave them off.

One person tweeted: ‘You do you King,’ and another added: ‘You can do no wrong.’ 

Despite coupling up with India Reynolds, 28, and finishing third place on Love Island the two did not last on the outside world.

The pair called it quits in September just months after leaving the Majorca sun.
