Lucy Hale grabs coffee…after admitting she auditioned for the lead role in Fifty Shades Of Grey

Lucy Hale stars in the romantic comedy film A Nice Girl Like You, which premiered on streaming platforms Friday.

But the 30-year-old actress looked the part of an everyday Angeleno as she grabbed her morning coffee to-go on Saturday.

While promoting her new flick this week, Lucy revealed that she auditioned for the role of Anastasia Steele in the 2015 erotic drama Fifty Shades Of Grey.

For her coffee run, Hale had her hair styled in piggytails and donned a purple tie-dyed face mask over her mouth and nose. 

She cut a casual figure in a loose off white tee that she tucked into a pair of high waisted denim skinny jeans.

On her feet, the Pretty Little Liars star wore a pair of New Balance sneakers that featured various colorful accents throughout. 

She had single gold chain dangling from her neck and a white purse slung across her body.

Due to the severity of the sun, Lucy was forced to place a pair of sunglasses over her eyes as she waited for her order.

As Hale stood idly at the coffee shop’s order counter, actress Nina Dobrev approached with her cute pup on a leash. 

Once Lucy noticed that the 31-year-old The Vampire Diaries star was in her vicinity, she greeted her.

Dobrev showed off her enviably slender frame in a striped crewneck sweatshirt and a pair of black leggings.

She sported a patterned cloth mask over her face and slipped her feet into a pair of fashionable sandals. 

In an interview with AP Entertainment, Lucy recalled have to read a ‘mortifying’ monologue she had to read for her Fifty Shades Of Grey audition.

‘It wasn’t, like, scenes from the movie, but it was a very sexually forward monologue and I didn’t even really know what I was saying in the audition, like, I was pretty naive about it all,’ explained Hale.

She added: ‘But, yes, I did audition. I did. I, obviously didn’t get the part, but it was good for me because it scared the crap out of me to do an audition like that.’

The role of Anastasia Steele ended up going to actress Dakota Johnson, 30, who happens to be the daughter of Melanie Griffith and Don Johnson.

Lucy’s latest film A Nice Girl Like You follows character Lucy Neal – played by Hale – as she sets off on a unique journey of self-discovery in an attempt prove her ex boyfriend wrong. 

The romantic comedy also stars Good Girls actress Jackie Cruz, actor Adhir Kalyan, and The Facts Of Life alum Mindy Cohn.

On Friday, Lucy uploaded a slew of behind-the-scenes pics that she took, while filming.

‘some BTS from A Nice Girl Like You. Talk about an extremely nice group of humans. Thanks to everyone whose watched,’ wrote the Katy Keene star in her post’s caption.

Aside from her professional life and frequent coffee runs,  Lucy is reportedly in a new relationship with The Bachelor star Colton Underwood, 28.

The pair were spotted enjoying a hike together in Los Angeles on Friday.
