Made In Chelsea’s Maeva D’Ascanio claims her female co-stars made her life a ‘nightmare’

EXCLUSIVE ‘They’re jealous, cold and make no effort’: Made In Chelsea’s Maeva D’Ascanio claims her female co-stars made her life a ‘nightmare’

Made In Chelsea’s Maeva D’Ascanio has claimed her female co-stars made her life a ‘nightmare’ when she first joined the E4 series.

The 28-year-old told MailOnline some of the cast are ‘jealous, cold and make no effort’ – and she suspects this is because she’s an ‘outcast’ as ‘the French girl.’

In an exclusive interview, Maeva explained how she felt ‘excluded for months’ after she started filming, following run-ins with the likes of Liv Bentley, Sophie Habboo and Verity Bowditch.

‘Excluded’: Made In Chelsea’s Maeva D’Ascanio has claimed her female co-stars made her life a ‘nightmare’ when she first joined the E4 series

Maeva, who moved back to London from Paris to join the E4 cast following her split from Miles Nazaire, said: ‘At the beginning it was a nightmare. I was by myself.

‘Probably because I was the French girl and the ex of Myles and people thought he was the nice guy and I was the mean one and people don’t want to get to know you in the beginning.

‘There’s jealousy, they’re cold and they don’t want to make the effort. With me, I felt really excluded for months and months and months and then I changed myself.

‘I always say to the girls on the show, “you don’t like me” but they need to get to know me before they judge me. I get on with Emily Blackwell now and Habbs… that’s it really!’

Maeva joined the show in 2018 and has since become known for her fiery personality and fearlessness when confronting her fellow co-stars.

She previously fell out with Verity over comments her boyfriend James Taylor made about missing her and she made an enemy of Liv after enjoying a personal training session with her ex, Digby Edgley, which created an ongoing issue between the pair.

She also faced resistance from her new cast mates after getting together with James, who was best friends with her ex, Miles.

Maeva said of her no-nonsense attitude: ‘I don’t know if it’s because I’m not English but I really want to express myself as much as I can. Sometimes I might sound rude but I’m not like that.

‘Meeting so many people in this Chelsea group, you have to show who you are and express your point of view all the time and I’m okay with that. It’s a part of my personality.’

Her experiences on the show have led Maeva to be trolled online, which she found tough in the beginning – but has since learned to live with the interference.

She said: ‘On Instagram – who loves me, who hates me, I struggled a little bit in the beginning with haters, I felt really concerned straight away because I didn’t know how to handle it properly.

‘But actually I quickly realised, if they love you or hate you, as long as they think something of you because if you’re invisible – that’s the problem.’

In scenes to be aired on Monday night’s Made In Chelsea, Maeva challenges boyfriend James on his intentions with her, as she doubts their future together.

And the star said it isn’t easy to film their arguments as once the cameras stop rolling, her and James continue to row once they’re at home.

She said: ‘It’s all very real. You’re talking about something that’s hurting you and it’s uncomfortable so after such an intense scene you can’t really move on from that.

‘We have a scene like that but then we come home together. We are not resolving anything. It’s a constant stressful situation.’

Made In Chelsea continues Monday’s at 9pm on E4
