MAFS: Bryce Ruthven hits back at trolls after signing a podcast deal

Married At First Sight star Bryce Ruthven hits back at trolls who say they’d ‘rather die’ than listen to his new podcast with ‘wife’ Melissa Rawson

Married At First Sight’s most controversial couple Bryce Ruthven and Melissa Rawson recently signed a deal with podcasting company Podshape.

And it didn’t take long for the couple’s critics to attack them online for cashing in on their notoriety with a 10-part series about their lives post-MAFS.

Bryce, 32, who is regularly trolled by self-righteous viewers, took aim at several followers who mocked his new career move with schoolyard taunts.

‘Can’t wait to listen to it on silent,’ one person commented on Bryce’s Instagram account.

‘Clicks,’ the former MAFS groom responded.

‘I would rather die,’ another troll insensitively wrote, to which Bryce responded with a telephone emoji and a link to the Beyond Blue helpline.

Not nice: A number of the comments were absolutely disgusting towards the radio star, with him offering witty replies back

A third user wrote: ‘You should not breed! You’re wasting our oxygen as it is.’

Bryce quit his last position as an announcer for Hit104.7 Canberra’s afternoon show in February.

He announced his new role with Podshape on Tuesday.

Announcement: Bryce Ruthven is officially back in the media industry after signing a contract with Podshape. His first assignment for the podcasting company is a series with his 'wife' Melissa Rawson all about their life post-MAFS, titled What Happens After

His first assignment for the company is a podcast with his ‘wife’ Melissa Rawson all about their life post-MAFS, aptly titled What Happens After.

A two-minute trailer for the Podshape exclusive was released last week.

In the promo, the couple talk about their time on Nine’s hit reality series, as well as what’s happened to them since the cameras stopped rolling.

‘The bad things have definitely been the trolls, and the lack of understanding around our relationship,’ says Melissa.

Bryce even alludes to marriage for the pair – and children.

‘I think it’s about time we make it legal at some point in the near future,’ he says, adding: ‘I would like to have kids. I’m not getting any younger.’

‘That will be an interesting topic to discuss!’ adds Melissa.

What Happens After launches on Tuesday, May 4, and will run for 10 episodes
