MAFS ‘millionaire’ Michael Goonan now charging $50 for interviews

EXCLUSIVE: Married At First Sight ‘millionaire’ Michael Goonan begs a podcaster to pay him $50 for an interview… before he’s brutally shut down for haggling

He reached millionaire status at just 24-years-old when he became a shareholder in his family’s company.

But now, Married At First Sight’s Michael Goonan is asking for money to appear on podcasts.

In a series of messages between Michael, 29, and Reality TV & Me host Kirsten Moore, the businessman asked for ’50 bucks’ to appear on the podcast for an interview.

The former reality star was approached to appear on the show via Instagram, and he wrote back to the request asking: ‘What are the rate$$?’

But the podcaster shut him down by replying: ‘Hey, sorry no pay. I’m just a poor a** podcaster. But if you’ve got a free half hour sometime let me know.’

Michael then resorted to haggling asking if the podcast was willing to pay ’50 bucks’ for him to appear. .

The podcast is famous for it’s sassy recaps of hit reality TV shows and it is regularly frequented by a number of ex-reality stars.

This includes fellow MAFS rejects like Stacey Hampton, David Cannon and Vanessa Romito, who presumably didn’t receive payment for their appearances.

It is unknown if Michael was joking or not in his request for payment. Daily Mail Australia has reached out to him for comment.

During his introduction on Married At First Sight earlier this year, he revealed how he’d worked hard for years to become a young millionaire.

‘I can’t remember since I was 12 a week that I wasn’t working. I’m the director of a cold food storage and food manufacturing business,’ he began.

‘When I was 24 I was actually able to afford a property over $1million. It has all paid off. I’d be lying if I said I didn’t have a taste for a couple of watches and shiny toys.’

Michael was paired with Stacey Hampton, 26, on the reality series but once the show wrapped he began dating his MAFS co-star KC Osborne, 31.

The couple dated for five months before calling it quits on their relationship last month.
