MAFS star nominated for prestigious TV award for scandalous affair

‘I’m so grateful’: MAFS’ Ines Basic is nominated for top TV moment of the DECADE for her affair with Sam Ball – but she’s up against Tony Abbott and the Thailand cave rescue

Former Married At First Sight star Ines Basic has been nominated for a prestigious television award.

This week, both Ines and Sam Ball received a nod from the Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts for Favourite TV Moment of the Decade for their steamy affair on the Channel Nine series.

The pair memorably cheated on their partners during the sixth season of Married At First Sight last year, which brought in record ratings for the network.

Speaking to The Wash, Ines admitted that she was stunned by the amazing news.

‘That is incredible I’m honestly so stunned and so grateful. I poured my whole heart and soul into filming that,’ she said.

However, some MAFS fans may find the nomination unfair considering that Ines and Sam weren’t the first stars from the show to have an affair.

On the show’s fifth season in 2017, Dean Wells memorably cheated on single mum Tracey Jewel with Instagram model Davina Rankin.

It was arguably the most scandalous moment in the history of the show, and some reality TV fans may argue that it’s more worthy of the prestigious award than Sam and Ines.

Jules Robinson and Cam Merchant, who both found love on the same season as Ines and Sam, are also nominated, picking up a joint nod for Favourite TV Contestant of the Decade.
