Man is arrested after ‘shots are fired’ near college in Crawley 

Police say a man has been detained ‘following reports of shots being fired’ near Crawley College in West Sussex.

Armed police were pictured outside the college this afternoon as the area remained cordoned off. 

The college has been evacuated and surrounding roads are shut while members of the public are advised to stay away from the site.

There is a large police presence at the scene and in the local area, Sussex Police said.
