Man, 20, is arrested for murder after teenager, 19, is stabbed to death during fight in central London

- Police and medics rushed to the scene and found a man, 19, had been stabbed
- Despite their best efforts, the 19-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene
- Police have launched a murder investigation and a man, 20, has been arrested
A 19-year-old man was stabbed to death during a fight between a group of men in central London, the Metropolitan Police said.
Officers and paramedics attended reports of the fight shortly after 10pm on Saturday but they were unable to save the teenager with first aid.
He was pronounced dead at the scene in Fernhead Road, West Kilburn near Paddington.

A 20-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of murder and has been taken into custody at a central London police station.
The victim’s next of kin have been informed but formal identification has yet to take place.
North Westminster MP Karen Buck said the killing was ‘utterly devastating’.

In a tweet on Saturday she wrote: ‘It’s been a bad night tonight, locally.
‘Despite all our other challenges we can’t lose sight of the need to rebuild both our Safer Neighbourhood police and the now almost non-existent prevention services to tackle serious youth violence. The alternative is worse.’
On Sunday morning she added: ‘Tragically it has now been confirmed that, amongst other disturbances last night, a young man was killed in W9. Utterly devastating.’
Officers from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command (Homicide) are leading the investigation.
