Manu Feildel takes a brutal swipe at disgraced former MKR judge Pete Evans

Guess they’re not friends! Manu Feildel takes a swipe at disgraced ex-MKR judge Pete Evans – as he says it’s been ‘fantastic’ working with Matt Preston and Gary Mehigan on Plate of Origin

They were once Australia’s favourite celebrity chef duo.

But Manu Feildel appears to have turned his back on his former My Kitchen Rules co-host Pete Evans.

Manu, 46, took a subtle swipe at his erstwhile colleague while praising his ‘fantastic’ new co-stars Matt Preston and Gary Mehigan on Channel Seven’s latest cooking show Plate of Origin.

‘What is it like working with Matt and Gary now, because you had been working with Pete for so many years. How’s the swap over been?’ radio host Jackie O Henderson asked.

‘Fantastic actually! We’ve been friends forever. It’s not like because we worked on different shows and networks we didn’t talk to each other,’ Manu said.

He added: ‘Gary and I had worked together on TV before and we’ve done charity gigs with Matt and it was fantastic. We had a good laugh.’

The two chefs worked together as judges on Seven’s My Kitchen Rules for 10 years, before Evans was sacked from the network in May this year.

The pair were often the subject of rumours they didn’t like each other, with a source revealing in 2017 that Manu thought Evans was ‘stranger than strange’.

After MKR was rested following its disappointing eleventh season, Seven has now shifted its focus to Plate of Origin, a new cooking format starring Manu, Matt and Gary.

Evans has been involved in a string of controversies since being sacked by Seven for his extreme views.

In July, he claimed that COVID-19 was a ‘f**king hoax’ and that the pandemic ‘doesn’t compare to what is happening in the world on a large scale’.

Among his false claims about the pandemic, Pete has previously declared he’s immune to coronavirus, and blamed the health crisis on 5G technology.

He recently endorsed fellow conspiracy theorist David Icke, a Holocaust denier who was denied entry to Australia last year after protests from the Jewish community.

It is not suggested that Evans endorses the views of Icke relating specifically to Holocaust denial or the Jewish people. He instead supports Icke’s views on globalist conspiracy theories and media manipulation.

Evans’ central belief is that ‘food is medicine’ and that by following a Paleo diet, people can develop superhuman immune systems that can withstand all illnesses, including COVID-19.

There is absolutely no scientific basis for this. Following a particular diet does not make a person any less likely to contract the deadly respiratory virus.
