Mariah Carey giggles with joy and announces ‘it’s time’ for All I Want For Christmas season

She’s become quite the matriarch of Christmas.

And Mariah Carey took her Instagram followers on a spooky adventure to reveal ‘it’s time’ to put the Halloween decorations away and get ready for the holidays.

The 50-year-old icon pulled out all of the stops for a scary send-off before her classic song, All I Want For Christmas, blasted across the video. 

A deathly ghoul roamed through Carey’s home wearing a scary stitched mask and a black cape. 

Before entering one room, a bright pink butterfly was covered in bloody hand prints and the words ‘not yet’ scrawled across the wings.

Once the door was opened, Mariah was caught perched underneath a Christmas tree, ready to celebrate her favorite season. 

Mariah rocked a bright red plaid onesie with Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer prints wearing a Santa Clause hat.

‘It’s time! (But let’s get through Thanksgiving first,)’ flashed across a blank screen.

She giggled with joy as she threw her arms up in the air while sitting in front of a decked out Christmas tree. 

Just last year, Mariah celebrated her 1994 hit reaching the top of the charts 25 years after its release with an updated music video.

Carey has waited nearly three decades to see her classic Christmas song reach the top of the charts, after peaking at No. 3 on the Hot 100’s top 10 in 2018.

Mariah now has a total of 19 number one’s in the Hot 100, making her the solo artist with the most No. 1’s in the chart, and tying with the late Elvis Presley with the second most by any artist, behind The Beatles.

CNN reported in 2019 that the song has already garnered nearly $2million in royalties since it was first added to Spotify, and has earned a staggering $60million in royalties through the years.
