Mariah Carey shares funny Bottle Cap Challenge outtake a year after her ‘magical’ high note moment

On Tuesday, five-time Grammy winner Mariah Carey shared a Bottle Cap Challenge outtake a full year after her epic high note moment.

Rather than do the popular 360-degree roundhouse kick to knock the cap off, the 50-year-old R&B diva used her five-octave soprano pipes to ‘magically’ unscrew it.

But this time, Mariah’s invisible wire trick failed and the video chaotically ended with the bottle ‘almost crushing’ her and the cap disappearing completely.

The 2019 video was most likely shot by Carey’s toyboy Bryan Tanaka, whom she originally hired as a backup dancer for her Adventures of Mimi Tour way back in 2006.

The Bottle Cap Challenge originated in the MMA world, but quickly caught on to celebs like Jason Statham, Justin & Hailey Bieber, Shawn Mendes, Blake Shelton, Ryan Reynolds, Kendall Jenner, Lizzo, Shaq, and Sophie Turner.

On Wednesday, the Elusive Chanteuse teased a page from her memoir I Had A Vision of Love, which will be published September 17 by Pan Macmillan and Henry Holt and Company.

‘This book is composed of my memories, my mishaps, my struggles, my survival, and my songs. Unfiltered,’ Mariah – who boasts 59.3M social media followers – wrote in the introduction.

‘I went deep into my childhood and gave the scared little girl inside me a big voice. I let the abandoned and ambitious adolescent have her say, and the betrayed and triumphant woman I became tell her side. Writing this memoir was incredibly hard, humbling, and healing. My sincere hope is that you are moved to a new understanding, not only about me, but also about the resilience of the human spirit.’

Carey has been in quarantine in her native New York with nine-year-old fraternal twins Monroe and Moroccan she had with ex-husband #2, The Masked Singer host Nick Cannon.

Despite the coronavirus pandemic, the In the Mix songstress is still scheduled to perform a concert on November 28 at the Neal S. Blaisdell Center in Honolulu.

Mariah was supposed to be inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame last month at the Marriott Marquis New York, but organizers postponed it until June 10, 2021 due to COVID-19.
