‘If that was me and I was pressuring Connie to have sex then this conversation would be so different right now,’ he explained.

Jonethen went on to say that he didn’t feel an emotional connection to Connie and he wanted to leave the show.

‘I mean you see the expert saying “why aren’t you guys having sex?”… I was saying to them “I don’t see anything in this relationship, I want to leave”,’ he said.

He added: ‘I had my father who it was at home and quite sick and I asked to be flown home every moment that I could’.

On Tuesday, Jonethen admitted that he wasn’t attracted to Connie during an intense dinner party.

‘No [I’m not attracted] to you but I still think you’re attractive. I just feel like the spark isn’t there. I still find all your traits about you attractive,’ he told Connie.

‘I didn’t come in here to have sex and I haven’t had sex because for me it’s something personal and it means a lot to me to have sex with someone,’ he explained.

He continued: ‘I’m not going to have sex with someone for no reason or to see if it works because I feel that [spark] before I have sex with someone.’

Speaking to New Idea on Monday,he said he was persuaded to write ‘stay’ during the latest commitment ceremony despite expressing his desire to leave.

He told the publication he was offered a secret agreement with producers, which allowed him to travel home to take care of his sick father, who had suffered a stroke and also stay on the experiment.
