‘Social media wasn’t that big back then, but now it’s a completely different environment.’

‘I’m terrified and it’s been such a concern because I’ve experienced what it’s like to be harassed, bullied.

‘The death threats that we’ve been getting online… I won’t even begin to highlight how disgusting that is,’ she continued.

‘To bring a child into the world, giving them access to social media at a young age … I couldn’t fathom a child having to deal with such disgusting, hurtful, bullying, body shaming comments.

‘I’m so terrified to think that if we were to have kids one day, I would just want to shield them from that.’

Despite Melissa’s sheer terror over online trolls, Bryce said that the majority of comments he’s been receiving on his Instagram page are positive.

’80 percent of people are actually very nice and friendly and can see through everything that happened on the show,’ he stated.

Melissa recently revealed that she’s been on a social media break to take care of her mental health.

The Married At First Sight star informed fans about why she’d been away in an Instagram Stories post shared on Friday.

‘I’ve been off social media for a couple of days, just been on a bit of a break,’ she said.

The clip was stamped with an image which read: ‘Mental health matters’.

She was then distracted from elaborating any further, as her boyfriend Bryce was loudly playing and singing along to the theme song for the football team, the Melbourne Storm.
