Married At First Sight’s Natasha Spencer slams producers over filming

Several Married At First Sight stars have made blistering attacks on the ‘toxic’ conditions that are forced on contestants during filming of the series.

And on Nova’s The Babble podcast with Matty J on Thursday, Natasha Spencer supported the claims – insisting conditions are ‘worse’ than what’s been said.

The 26-year-old recalled having to go topless next to a fridge in an ‘uninsulated warehouse’ just to cool down, while waiting to film Tuesday’s reunion episode. 

When asked by host Matty ‘J’ Johnson whether her co-stars’ claims of poor filming conditions are true, Natasha responded: ‘[It’s] worse.’

The financial analyst went on to detail filming of Tuesday’s reunion episode, which took place in January.   

Natasha wore an eye-catching gold sequinned frock, with long sleeves and a plunging neckline.

The brunette bombshell revealed how being cooped up in an ‘uninsulated warehouse’ for four hours while waiting to go on set, was unbearable.

‘The gold dress that I wore [on Tuesday’s episode], I was sweating so much,’ she said.

Natasha went on to reveal that she went topless and stood next to a fridge just to cool off, as the sweat had ‘ripped’ the silk and beads off her dress.

‘I stood there in a room by myself with my dress around my waist, topless, standing in front of the fridge with a fan,’ she said.

Asked by Matty whether the production crew offered any help, Natasha said with a laugh: ‘They were like, “Do you want an icy pole?”‘

Back in February, Natasha’s co-star David Cannon revealed on the Not Here To Make Friends podcast that ‘toxic’ conditions involved lockdowns and patrolled hallways.

‘It was prison,’ the 31-year-old truck driver said.

David explained that while contestants initially had a 10pm curfew during the week, and midnight curfew on weekends, it soon got scaled back.  

‘In the end, I think it was 7pm, so we were locked in our rooms with this person that none of us really like,’ David said.

Contestants were not allowed to visit their co-stars of the show, with producers putting themselves on patrol in the hallway.

‘We weren’t allowed to talk to each other in the hallways, there was a producer [outside our doors], there would be someone who would police it.’ 

Mishel Karen, 49, also made similar statements in an interview with The Daily Telegraph last Saturday, claiming she ‘didn’t have any human rights’ during filming. 

‘We were sleep deprived, we had everything we owned taken from us,’ she alleged.
