Married At First Sight star Sam Ball reemerged on social media with a bold, and bald, new look this month.
And now the reality TV ‘villain’ has responded to shocked fans, who have questioned the reason behind his dramatic transformation.
The 27-year-old, who now has a bald head and clean-shaven chin, addressed his changed appearance via an Instagram comment this week.

Sam appeared on the 2019 season of MAFS, where he infamously enjoyed a steamy affair with co-star Ines Basic behind TV wife Elizabeth Sobinoff’s back.
He skipped the series’ reunion episode and was never held accountable for his behaviour.
Disappearing from social media and the public eye for the last six months, fans were taken aback by Sam’s bald new look this month.
One disappointed fan asked Sam directly on his recent post: ‘Why ooh why would you shave your head?’
Sam decided to respond, writing with confidence: ‘because life’s too short and it’s amazing.’

Sam retreated from the public eye in May when he suddenly deleted his Instagram account so he could ‘put 110 per cent’ into new opportunities.’
He flew under the radar in the months that followed – and left a cryptic caption on his first post back on the platform on Sunday: ‘If you see me less, I’m doing more.’
However, Daily Mail Australia can exclusively reveal that Sam has joined the army.
According to insiders, Sam recently graduated from the Kapooka Army Recruit Training program in Canberra, where he is currently lives.

Sam hinted at his plans to join the army back in May, when he penned an essay to Instagram about his decision to quit the social media platform.

‘I’ve got some beautiful relationships at hand and want to put all of my energy into these relationships – I don’t want any distractions so I wish you guys all the best.’

In January 2020, he briefly resurfaced in headlines after fans spotted him working at a bottle shop in Queensland.

Sam once again returned to the public eye in April, when he spoke exclusively to Daily Mail Australia about his strict fitness regimen.
‘I’m training two times a day. I have bought lots, so now I have my own gym set up at home, and other days I improvise outdoors,’ he said at the time.
Sam said he hadn’t put a time limit on his fitness goals but instead was aiming to become ‘more athletic’.
Sam added: ‘I’ll reach [my goal] in a few months, it’s just for myself. I love it, so I’m just enjoying the process. I love being healthy and the lifestyle so if anything, the coronavirus is pushing me to chase my goals even harder.’
