Ex-MasterChef winner Adam Liaw reveals the TRUTH about Callum Hann’s ‘nice guy persona’ after he was eliminated from the competition

Former MasterChef winner Adam Liaw threatened to revealed the ‘truth’ about Back to Win contestant Callum Hann following his elimination on Tuesday.

The celebrity chef, 41, who faced off against Callum in season two, joked on Twitter that the 30-year-old’s ‘nice guy persona’ was ‘all an act’.

Adam tweeted: ‘You all really need to know that @callumskitchen’s wholesome nice guy persona on #MasterChefAU is all an act.’

‘In reality he’s actually even nicer!’ he added.

Fans will remember that Adam and Callum went head to head on season two of MasterChef back in 2009. 

Since winning the MasterChef title a decade ago, Adam has authored several cookbooks and hosted his own TV show on SBS, Destination Flavour.

There was not a dry eye in the house after fan favourite Callum was sent home on Tuesday after his coconut snapper dish failed to impress the judges in the pressure test against Laura Sharrad. 

Host Melissa Leong said: ‘So many people around this country – and the world – love your food and what you represent. 

‘Ten years ago, you might have walked into this competition as a boy, but this time, you’ve returned as a dad. And every time you walk through those doors, humility and integrity has always followed. We are so proud of you,’ she added.

Laura also became emotional as she paid tribute to Callum, saying: ‘I never thought that we would be here together.

Fans also flocked to Twitter to say they were devastation that the Adelaide-based chef hadn’t made it to the show’s top three.

‘I’m gutted that Callum is gone. Great cook and what a seriously top bloke: warm, humble and passionate,’ one viewer tweeted.

Another added: ‘Heartbroken over Callum going, I feel like I’ve grown up with Callum on MasterChef. He was 19 on his first season, I was 20. I loved him then and I still love him. I’m so proud of how well he did…’

The semi-finalists heading into the last episodes are Laura Sharrad, Emilia Jackson and Reynold Poernomo.
