MasterChef shares FIVE delicious recipes for the humble mac and cheese after celebrity chef Massimo Bottura shared his favourite

Massimo Bottura shared his mouthwatering mac and cheese recipe on Tuesday’s episode of MasterChef.

The 58-year-old Italian chef detailed his recipe ahead of a mac and cheese cooking task assigned to the show’s contestants. 

And it was just one of five hunger-inducing mac and cheese recipes which featured on the MasterChef website.

Massimo Bottura’s Mac and Cheese dish combines cheeses including Taleggio, Gorgonzola, Pecorino and Parmigiano-Reggiano.

He also uses fresh white truffle and balsamic vinegar for added flavour.

‘I’m going to add some blue cheese. This is adding a lot of deepness,’ Massimo told the show’s contestants.

As he detailed his recipe, judge Melissa Leong was left visibly impressed, salivating over the various ingredients. 

Fellow judge Andy Allen had earlier shared his own mac and cheese recipe on the MasterChef website.

Andy Allen’s Cauliflower Mac and Cheese uses a variety of vegetables, such as cauliflower, leek and garlic.

He also uses Gruyère cheese, smoked cheddar and anchovy fillets, injecting a salty flavour into the classic dish. 

Another take on the humble mac and cheese, which features on the MasterChef website, is the Triple Hog Mac & Cheese.

The dish features a three pork mix, including pork belly, pancetta and bacon, a cheese sauce, macaroni and sweet corn base, and anchovy and sage crumb.

Say cheese: The Porky Mac & Cheese with Porky Cream, Parmesan Crisp also uses pancetta, and features a crisp layer of fried parmesan on the top

The Spanish Mac & Cheese appears to be another favourite in the MasterChef kitchen, and features diced chorizo, garlic and Spanish onion.

‘Try this oozy Spanish mac and cheese featuring smoked chorizos, tomatoes and a variety of mouth-watering spices – it can’t get any better than this!’ reads the description.
