Masterchef’s Poh Ling Leow hits back at criticism for her stress-inducing and ‘chaotic cooking’

Poh bites back! MasterChef favourite Ling Yeow slams trolls for criticising her ‘chaotic cooking’ and challenges them to cook a restaurant-worthy dish under strict time constraints

She was regularly crititicised for leaving viewers in a ‘state of stress’ while cooking her complex dishes under strict time constraints on MasterChef Australia.

But now fan favourite Poh Ling Yeow has hit back at her critics.

The 47-year-old has challenged trolls, who labelled her cooking on the show as ‘chaotic’, to whip up their own restaurant quality dish in very little time.

Under pressure: While she was a fan favourite, Poh Ling Yeow was regularly criticised for leaving viewers in a state of stress, wondering whether she would finish her complex dish in the time limit

‘I would like to say to them, next time they’re on Masterchef: Back To Win, I’d like to see them be really organised and cook a splendid, winning dish,’ she told Mamamia.

‘People don’t realise the stress we’re under. Also, I just work like that better, that’s just how I work.’

Poh further went on to explain that she doesn’t cook like that outside the show.

‘I’m not like that in my commercial kitchen,’ she added.

‘I was trying to get so much done, like I was always trying to cook more than one dish, because I’m a cultural cook.

‘I wanted to tell a story, and often I felt like it required more than one dish to tell that story.’
