‘Are you trying to kill me?’ MasterChef’s Poh Ling Yeow sends pregnant Katy Perry into a coughing fit after serving her a spicy dish
She is set to make a guest appearance on Channel Ten’s MasterChef Australia.
But a trailer for Thursday night’s episode proves American pop star Katy Perry may have got more than she bargained for.
The pregnant singer, 35, was sent into a coughing fit after contestant Poh Ling Yeow served her a dish that was too spicy.

The promo begins with judge Jock Zonfrillo announcing Katy as the surprise guest.
‘For the first time in a MasterChef kitchen, she’s been singing our theme tune for 12 years… Katy Perry!’ the 43-year-old chef announces.
The songstress enters the building, strokes her stomach and tells the contestants: ‘Me and my unborn child are ready to eat.’
After walking over to Poh’s station, Katy tastes her spicy dish, before admitting: ‘I can taste that!’

The singer then starts coughing uncontrollably before asking Poh: ‘Are you trying to kill me literally?’
‘Have I put in too much spice?’ a concerned Poh asks.
The show’s co-judge Melissa Leong then tells the producers to give Katy a glass of water.

This comes after eliminated MasterChef contestant Chris Badenoch took a subtle swipe at the American singer.
Speaking on The Project on Monday night, Chris was asked if he regrets being eliminated before her anticipated arrival in the MasterChef kitchen.
‘I would be bummed if it was Metallica, but I don’t really rock out to Katy Perry,’ Chris said to the host, Carrie Bickmore.
