The new contestants in the upcoming season of MasterChef are set to impress fans of the Channel 10 hit show. 

And a new cook – named Minoli – will no doubt thrill audiences with her skills in the kitchen.

In her introduction, shared on the show’s official Instagram on Thursday, the amateur chef tells producers: ‘When I cook I don’t want to be anywhere else.

‘I just want to spend all my effort that I put into my career, into food. I want this so, so badly.

A narrator reveals Minoli only needs to cook ‘one amazing dish’ to wow the judges – Andy Allen, Jock Zonfrillo and Melissa Leong – but instead she chooses to pack on the pressure by cooking six dishes. 

‘It’s definitely a risky move doing six dishes today. Just one bad dish could cost me the apron, so I have to nail every single one,’ they say.

The self-described ‘Greek gay boy with a mullet’ reveals his cooking style as ‘very Greek, with heaps of south-east Asian ingredients.’

He admits that his type of cuisine is more ‘con-fusion’ rather than ‘fusion’, and explains: ‘I myself don’t really know what’s going up on the plate most of the time.’

‘I’m not really a recipe person. I am going on instinct, it’s very much on the fly,’ Conor confessed as he cooked his dish – what appeared to be a fish based meal – for the judges.

‘I come from a big family of cooks. The Bengali cuisine that I carry with me has been passed down from generation to generation,’ she says.

‘If I don’t do that, it’s going to end with me and I really want to pass that down… It’s a very small dream,’ she adds while tearing up. 

TV Blackbox recently reported that MasterChef Australia’s premiere was delayed until the Married At First Sight final aired to avoid a ratings clash.

According to the publication, the Channel 10 show is set to debut on Sunday April 18 against the new season of Nine’s Lego Masters.

This indicates that Nine’s Married At First Sight is expected to conclude in the week of April 11, which is the first week of ratings after the Easter break.
