MIC’s Tabitha Willett unveils her unseen bridal gown as she reflects on 2020

Made In Chelsea star Tabitha Willett has unveiled her previously unseen wedding dress after having to cancel her nuptials when she split from fiancé Fraser Carruthers earlier this year.

The TV personality, 29, and the nightclub mogul, 37, parted ways in October, meaning a planned behind the scenes reveal of Tabitha’s sensational wedding dress didn’t end up airing on the E4 reality show.

Tabitha told how although she ‘cancelled my wedding and lost my home and my future’ in 2020, the ‘valuable year’ also taught her to be a ‘single parent’ to the former couple’s daughter Ottilie, 18 months, and deal with ‘heartache and loss’.

Alongside a striking still and video clip of her stunning wedding dress, she wrote on Instagram on Thursday: ‘I had to post this picture because the dress is too beautiful to have never been seen.

‘Swipe for a behind the scenes of my wedding dress reveal on Made in Chelsea that never got aired.’

Clearly in a reflective mood as 2020 draws to a close, Tabitha added: ‘2020 has been my most valuable year. I have learnt more over the last 12 months than I ever thought imaginable.

‘Obviously there has been a global pandemic that has effected everyone’s lives in some ways, but for me there has been a lot more.

‘I have learnt about the unpredictabilities of life. I have learnt how to be a parent. I have learnt how to be a single parent. I have learnt how to be a coparent.

‘I have learnt to deal with heartache and loss. I have learnt how much resilience and strength I hold within me.’

Tabitha also detailed her battle with mental health and said she has surprised herself by learning how to fine happiness on her own.

She said: ‘I have learnt that I can surprise myself and be happy on my own – as a girl who has suffered from mental health and taken antidepressants daily for 10 years this always felt like something that was unobtainable for me.

‘I cancelled my wedding. I lost my home and my future: but I have learnt that whatever happens, everything will be okay and BETTER in fact.

‘Everything happens for a reason and I have learnt to trust the process. I know that I have it within me to pull through and create happiness whatever is on the cards for me.

‘Thank you so much for letting me document so much of it here and being with me every step of the way. I mean it when I say you have all got me through these situations xxxx.’

In October, Tabitha and Fraser announced the split after they were forced to postpone their July wedding due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Tabitha shared a sweet picture of their hands including the paw of their Cavalier King Charles Spaniel as she expressed her ‘sadness’ at their inability to make it ‘work’.

Tabitha praised Fraser, who counts Prince Harry as one of his friends, as ‘the most incredible father’ to Ottilie and revealed how the couple ‘still love each other’.

Fraser proposed during a trip to Miami in November 2019, with a three-carat diamond engagement ring designed by Eden Rocks, the company run by MIC pal Spencer who was also expected to attend the wedding.

Tabitha was set to exchange vows with Fraser at the Hurlingham Club in Fulham, south-west London, in July in front of a host of friends, family and celebrity guests.

However, the pandemic scuppered their plans, and they had planned to get married at a register office and hold a reception in a Chelsea restaurant.

Their delayed wedding date also meant that their 14-month-old daughter Ottilie would have been able to walk down the aisle with them.

Tabitha met Fraser in 2016 when she worked as a marketing director at his private members’ club Albert’s, named after his great-great-great-great grandfather, which counts Prince Harry as one of its favourite patrons.

Fraser also co-owns popular Chelsea-based club Raffles, and Mahiki in Kensington – a stone’s throw from Kensington Palace, as well as owning a property company and having just launched a new Sake brand with Made In Chelsea star Oliver Proudlock.

After moving in with Fraser in November 2017 the pair split up, with Tabitha throwing herself into filming MIC. However they pair began to rekindle things and Tabitha left the show upon discovering she was pregnant with a little girl in January 2019.
