Miley Cyrus has her coif cut into a ‘pixie mullet’ with help from her mom Tish amid ongoing COVID-19 lockdown in California

Miley Cyrus isn’t letting the lockdown crimp her style.

The Wrecking Ball singer, 27, took to Instagram on Tuesday to show off a new ‘pixie mullet’ hairdo she’s rocking, thank to a joint effort from her mother Tish Cyrus, 53, and celeb stylist Sally Hershberger, People reported.

Since the We Can’t Stop singer was unable to bring celeb stylist Sally Hershberger amid the ongoing lockdown in her native California, Tish executed the haircut while Hershberger supervised the procedure via FaceTime.

‘Miley sent me over a picture for inspiration, but this pixie mullet is completely different than the original inspiration photo,’ the stylist, who last cut Miley’s coif four months back, told the magazine.

Hershberger described the coif as ‘an ongoing creative haircut,’ adding that the superstar songstress was pleased with the results.

‘Miley loved the final look as much as I did!’ she said. ‘It’s so cool and daring to mesh together two styles into one that really expresses her own sense of style.

‘She’s such a great client to work with since she’s so open to trying new looks. We were both really happy with how the haircut turned out and I’m sure her mom will keep tweaking it a bit.’

She said that the mother and daughter ‘were able to easily execute the vision’ they intended with the cut, as salons remain shut down in the Golden State in an effort to quell the spread of the virus.

‘I’m sure Tish will start getting booked soon – her own requests for virtual haircuts!’ said Hershberger, who has also served celeb clients including Meg Ryan, Jimmy Fallon and Tom Cruise.

The stylist said that prior to the recent procedure, she ‘actually did a virtual cut with Miley last month’ in setting up ‘a FaceTime call with her to walk her through fixing her bangs and giving herself a trim.’

The beauty professional told the publication that the tools necessary for the cut included ‘a sharp pair of scissors, a feather razor, a comb, a few clips and a spray bottle.’

Hershberger, who owns salons in both New York City and Los Angeles, said she mimicked the motions necessary in the procedure to give Tish and others a clear model to pattern themselves after.

‘Instead of just telling them the step-by-step instructions, I physically do the cut with them,’ Hershberger said. ‘I find that actually demonstrating allows the client to get the best results.’

Hershberger said that ‘less is more’ with the cuts, with the main idea centered on working ‘gradually … with small sections’ at a time.
