Minari’s Steven Yeun teams with comedienne Ali Wong for new as-yet untitled dramedy series

He made history on Monday when he became the first Asian-American to be nominated for an Academy award.

And now MInari’s Steven Yeun is teaming up with comedienne and actress Ali Wong for a new dramedy series.

The show has been created by Lee Sung Jin whose credits include Silicon Valley and 2 Broke Girls and is currently the subject of a bidding war, according to Deadline.com.

The project starring the two has sparked a bidding war, Deadline.com reported Tuesday

Little else is known about the project except that there will  be 10 30-minute episodes. 

Yeun, 37, first came to prominence as fan favorite character Glenn Rhee in The Walking Dead on which he starred from 2010 to 2016. 

Most recently, the Seoul-born actor has been winning plaudits for his performance in the drama Minari, about a Korean family starting a farm in 1980s Arkansas.

In addition to Yeun’s best actor nomination, Minari has earned another five Oscar nods including best picture.   

Wong’s work includes the ABC sitcom American Housewife, the Warner Bros. film Birds of Prey and the Netflix movie Always Be My Maybe.

She’s also starred in two stand-up specials for Netflix, Baby Cobra and Hard Knock Wife.
