Taking to the Facebook group Marks & Spencer UK – Have Your SAY! dozens of shoppers have shared when they’ve got their hands on a bottle, while some workers have used the group to share when they have it in stock.

Others have complained about not being able to get their hands on a bottle of the pretty liqueur, while some have reported their local stores are restricting sales to one or two per person.

One entrepreneur who got their hands on a bottle is selling it on eBay for £59.99 – more than three times the original price – while some are even taking their chances on selling an empty bottle for £39.99 – more than twice the original price.

Dozens of others are also selling the liqueur on Facebook marketplace for £45 or more, while many are excitedly sharing online when their local branch has some in stock.

An M&S spokesperson told FEMAIL: ‘Last year our Clementine Snow Globe Gin Liqueur with edible 23 carat gold leaf proved so popular with customers, we had queues waiting each time a new delivery was made to stores.

‘This year, we added a second flavour and a light to the bottle, and increased the number of globes in stores by more than TEN times.

‘These Light Globe Gin Liqueurs have been spreading so much festive spirit already, we’re now limiting the number of bottles to two per person to ensure as many customers can get their hands on a bottle this Christmas as possible.’

‘Again another failing I’ve been trying to buy it for over a month!!’ wrote a third.

‘Just 18 Pound?’ Is it possible to ship to Germany?’ questioned one.

‘I’ve given up, been going in everyday for a week,’ another wrote.

M&S say the drink is the UK’s first light up bottle of gin liqueur includes 23 carat edible gold leaf.

It’s part of their  indulgent festive range on more intimate ‘mini-mas’ celebrations, as many people are expected to celebrate in smaller groups due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The range has more vegan food than ever before, as well as Christmas classics including an oven-ready turkey crown, and indulgent golden profiteroles.
