‘If you can’t feed your family we’ll sort you out’: My Kitchen Rules star Colin Fassnidge offers free meals from his top-rated restaurants to those struggling amid coronavirus pandemic

Colin Fassnidge is doing his best to help his fellow man during the coronavirus pandemic. 

The My Kitchen Rules star shared a video to Instagram on Saturday to let fans in the area know that he can offer them a free feed. 

The noted chef, 45, heads up trendy eateries such as 4 Fourteen in Surry Hills, and Banksia at the Banksia Hotel.

He said in the Instagram video:  ‘Everybody is doing takeaway. We’re doing takeaway from our two places. 

‘But what we realised was a lot of people who have been coming in soon won’t be able to afford takeaway or meals and have families that are doing it tough. 

‘Our locals are looking after us, so what we’d like to do is if you can’t feed your family and you live in the local area of Banksia, DM me on here and we’ll sort you out with food,’ he added.

The Irish-born chef went on to say he doesn’t want anything in return – he just wants to help those struggling. 

The TV star told his fans: ‘We just want to look after our local community because you look after us.’  

‘There won’t be a big deal made about it, but we’ll look after each other in the future’ he added.

It comes as panic buying across Australia has stripped supermarket shelves, leaving shoppers unable to obtain necessities. 

As self-isolation closes many businesses and causes all sorts of events to be cancelled, many Australians have also been left out of work.
