Mystery as elderly couple in their eighties are found dead in Warwickshire house with ‘no signs of suspicious behaviour’

  • Police were called to the property in Bucks Hill, Nuneaton, at 3.49pm on Sunday 
  • Bodies were recovered by emergency services and an investigation launched 
  • Fire crews were called but found no signs of carbon monoxide poisoning 

An elderly couple in their 80s has been found dead in a house in Warwickshire with  ‘no obviously signs of suspicious behaviour’. 

Police were called to the property in Bucks Hill, Nuneaton, at 3.49pm on Sunday.  

The couple’s bodies were recovered by emergency services and an investigation has been launched.  

Detective Inspector Carl Buckley, from Nuneaton’s serious and complex crime team, said: ‘This is a tragic incident and our thoughts are with the family of the couple.

‘At this time there are no obvious signs of any suspicious behaviour, however we are keeping an open mind.

‘A post-mortem is planned and this should help give us a better picture of what happened.

‘There will be a high police presence in the area today as we work to piece together what has happened.

Fire crews were called to the scene and a Warwickshire Police spokesperson said there were no signs of carbon monoxide at the property but they will be carrying out further enquiries, according to CoventryLive
