Nephew of Aussie Home Loans founder John Symond ‘sells his Walsh Bay apartment with harbour views for more than $14MILLION’

James Symond, the nephew of Aussie Home Loans founder John Symond, has reportedly sold his three-bedroom apartment in Sydney’s Walsh Bay.

According to The Daily Telegraph, locals believe the property sold for just over $14million after the listing disappeared from Belle Property Double Bay’s website.

The stunning home, which went on the market in February, boasts a four-car garage, a boat berth and incredible front-on views of the Harbour Bridge.

Located on Hickson Road in Dawes Point, the multimillion-dollar home features a master bedroom with a spacious walk-in wardrobe and lavish marble ensuite.

The interiors take on a contemporary feel with French oak floorboards, Madagascar timber, and yet more marble throughout.

James, who resigned from Aussie Home Loans last month, is currently renting with his wife, Amelia, in Elizabeth Bay, while their $9.5million new home is constructed.

Daily Mail Australia has contacted Belle Property Double Bay for comment.

In November, James’ uncle John Symond, 73, announced his retirement from Aussie Home Loans after almost 29 years.

‘I have had a long and rewarding journey with Aussie, which now has a team of over 1,000 people – covering staff, mortgage brokers and franchisees in over 200 stores across Australia,’ Mr Symond told Nine News at the time.

‘I am most proud of leading the revolution that has helped millions of Australian consumers by lowering their costs through increased competition amongst the major lenders in providing cheaper interest rates and better customer service.’

James took on the role as CEO, while Geoff Austin replaced John as chairman.

However, just last month, James left Aussie Home Loans following a merger with online broker Lendi.
