Nick Cordero’s widow Amanda Kloots votes early after slamming President Trump

Amanda Kloots looked overjoyed to cast her ballot on Wednesday for the November general election.

The 36-year-old former wife of the late Nick Cordero showed herself wit her California ballot in her Instagram Stories as she skipped the mail and deposited it directly in an early voting drop box.

The fitness instructor made a display of her vote after criticizing President Donald Trump the day before for his cavalier statements about the severity of the coronavirus.

Nick died three months prior from severe complications due to COVID-19.

Making her voice heard: Amanda Kloots, 36, looked overjoyed on Wednesday as she deposited her completed ballot in a voting drop box in LA with her one-year-old son Elvis

Amanda shared some selfies of herself in a white ribbed tank top with cut-off jeans and a mask to slow the spread of the novel coronavirus.

She carried her one-year-old son Elvis in her arm while carrying a straw bag and her sealed ballot.

‘So proud to vote! I remember going with my mom to the polls so I brought Elvis!’ she captioned the photo.

Another snap showed a closer look at her handbag, which said ‘VOTE’ on the side, though the image was flipped.

‘Heading to drop off my ballot!’ she wrote.

Following changes to United States Postal Service (USPS) operations by Postmaster General Louis DeJoy, a Trump appointee, many voters have been choosing to drop off their ballots rather than mail them.

The changes, which included slashing overtime for postal employees, requiring mail to be left for the next day if it wasn’t sent out on time and dismantling electronic sorting machines, were labeled as attempts to sabotage mail service and prevent ballots from being counted by critics of the administration.

Amanda didn’t give a reason for dropping off her ballot instead of mailing it, though she did make a rare political statement on Tuesday by criticizing the president.

Heartbreaking: 'Don't be afraid? We were afraid every single day,' she continued through her tears. 'To tell somebody to not be afraid of this disease that took a life, that took over 200,000 lives, that took over a million lives. It's just like a dagger in the heart'

While speaking with CNN‘s Chris Cuomo, Amanda opened up about her shock at seeing President Trump tell Americans not to be afraid of the virus that left her late husband in the hospital for 95 days.

‘It was like a gut punch, bringing back… everything we went through,’ she said.

Later that night, Amanda shared a photo of the interview and quoted herself.

‘He had a chance to be HUMAN… not polical [sic], not Republican/Democratic… a HUMAN, a HUMAN BEING,’ she said.

In another post from the interview, she vowed: ‘I will forever fight and stand up for my husband.’

Making his case: Trump has been releasing pre-taped videos to present himself as fully recovered from COVID-19, though medical experts say he’s not out of the woods

In a last-ditch effort to raise his electoral prospects amid polls showing significant national leads for former Vice President Joe Biden, President Trump has been releasing pre-taped videos to convince the public that he has fully recovered from COVID-19.

However, his medical team have confirmed that he is still battling the virus.

It’s believed to have been seven days since Trump tested positive for a coronavirus infection, though his staff have refused to disclose when his last negative test was from.

Many health experts have cautioned that the president is not out of the woods, as its common for some patients’ health to decline precipitously 7–10 days after first exhibiting symptoms, and Trump is only now entering that period.

During Nick’s long battle with COVID-19, he suffered mini strokes and had to have one of his legs amputated.

Although he was negative for the coronavirus weeks before his death, the damage from the illness was too great for him to overcome.

Last month, Amanda shared a sweet photo of their son Elvis with a blue ‘VOTE’ hat.

Though her post didn’t endorse any party or candidate, she was forced to turn off the comments after they were swarmed by right-wing trolls who may have assumed she was supporting the Democratic Party because of the blue color.
