Nine News suffers an embarrassing gaffe as the network switches to a SEVEN reporter during a live cross to Daniel Andrews’ press conference

Channel Nine suffered an embarrassing gaffe during Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews’ press conference on Tuesday.

As Andrews discussed the state’s response to the coronavirus pandemic, Seven News reporter Teegan Dolling was briefly shown on screen.

The Seven reporter was preparing for a live cross from Albury-Wodonga, but viewers were left confused when she appeared on Channel Nine.

According to TV Tonight, the scene changed after a few seconds and went back to an interpreter signing the Premier’s speech.

This isn’t the first time a major networks has suffered a technical glitch recently.

In May, Channel Seven’s Weekend Sunrise host Matt Doran experienced an awkward encounter on live television.

The 36-year-old was left red-faced when the breakfast program suffered technical issues and failed to switch to the next segment.

After Matt threw to reporter Sarah Greenhalgh in Italy, the screen suddenly switched to Sportsbet’s Inside Trading hosted by Simon Marshall.

Simon was shown reading his scripts while casually dropping the F-word.

The segment then switched back to Sarah reporting on coronavirus cases in Italy.

Back in the newsroom, Matt brushed off the technical gaffe and said: ‘Sarah Greenhalgh reporting there and let’s get some more news now with Sally.’
