Oscar nominee Carey Mulligan joins Adam Sandler’s new Netflix movie Spaceman
Fresh off her second Oscar nomination for the Best Picture nominee Promising Young Woman, Carey Mulligan has found her next project.
The 35-year-old actress has signed to join Adam Sandler in his new Netflix movie Spaceman, according to Deadline.
The new Netflix film will be based on the 2017 sci-fi novel Spaceman of Bohemia by Jaroslav Kalfar.

The story follows an astronaut, played by Sandler, who is sent to the edge of the galaxy to collect a mysterious and ancient dust.
As he learns his earthly life is falling apart, he turns to the only voice who can help him fix everything.
The voice just happens to belong to a creature from the beginning of time who has been hiding in the shadows of his ship.

Mulligan will be portraying the wife of Sandler’s astronaut character, though no further details about her role have been revealed.
Johan Renck (Chernobyl) will direct from a screenplay by Colby Day, based on Kalfar’s novel.
Channing Tatum, Reid Carolin, Peter Kiernan and Michael Parets will produce the film for their Free Association company.

Tim Headington, Lia Buman and Max Silva will oversee for Tango Entertainment, with Ben Ormand, Renck and Barry Bernardi serving as executive producers.
Spaceman will be Mulligan’s fifth project for Netflix, following the critically-acclaimed Mudbound and The Dig, which debuted in January.
She also stars in Maestro with Bradley Cooper, which will debut on Netflix, and the 2018 mini-series Collateral.

Mulligan is nominated for Best Actress at the Oscars, going up against Andra Day (The United States Vs. Billie Holiday), Frances McDormand (Nomadland), Vanessa Kirby (Pieces of a Woman) and Viola Davis (Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom).
She is set to star in Bradley Cooper’s Maestro, a biopic centering on the life of Leonard Bernstein.
She is also attached to star in the film Fingernails.
