Oscars 2021: Nicole Kidman watches 93rd Academy Awards from hotel room

Nicole Kidman won an Oscar for her portrayal of Virginia Woolf in The Hours in 2003.

And 18 years later it appears the pace of Hollywood’s night of nights has changed significantly for the Australian superstar.

Nicole, 53, shared a photo to Instagram on Sunday night of herself dressed down as she watched the awards show from the floor of a hotel room.

The flame-haired actress wore a semi-sheer white top and blue jeans as she watched the ceremony on television.

‘Sitting crossed legged on the floor watching the #Oscars… Been doing this since I was a little girl,’ she captioned the post. 

Nicole won an Oscar in 2003 for her role in the critically acclaimed film The Hours.

She is a regular nominee at the prestigious awards, having been nominated for her roles in 2002’s Moulin Rogue and 2011’s Rabbit Hole. 

She was also nominated for Best Supporting Actress for 2017’s Lion.

Last week, Nicole was spotted filming scenes with actor Javier Bardem.

They are portraying Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz in the upcoming biopic Being The Ricardos, which is written and directed by Aaron Sorkin.

The title Being The Ricardos refers to the last name of the family Lucy and Desi played on their pioneering sitcom.

Rumors began flying around at the beginning of the year that Nicole had been cast as Lucille Ball opposite Javier as Desi Arnaz.

The reports led to a good bit of controversy over her casting and prompted Debra Messing to aggressively pitch herself for the role on Twitter.

Nicole recently returned to the U.S. last month after filming the Hulu limited series Nine Perfect Strangers in Byron Bay with a star studded cast.

Nicole and her family, including country superstar Keith Urban, had been residing in the NSW coastal town for six months as she filmed the show.

The limited series is being produced by Nicole’s production company, Blossom Films, alongside Big Little Lies collaborators Bruna Papandrea and David E. Kelley.

Nine Perfect Strangers is based on Liane Moriarty’s bestselling novel of the same name. The series stars Melissa McCarthy, Bobby Canavale and Luke Evans.
