‘Oystergate’ model Ruby Tuesday Matthews flies Virgin after Jetstar incident

Up, up and away! ‘Entitled’ model Ruby Tuesday Matthews flies Virgin after she was heckled for holding up a Jetstar flight to eat oysters

She notoriously held up a Jetstar flight after leaving the airport to dine on oysters.

And after last month’s debacle, it seems Ruby Tuesday Matthews has snubbed the discount airline by opting to fly with rival carrier Virgin.

Posting to Instagram on Thursday, the 27-year-old model shared a photo of herself on the flight, before poking fun at the ‘oystergate’ incident.

‘En route for oysters. Wavey Wavey hair by my beauty,’ she captioned the photo.

The Byron Bay-based influencer looked stunning for the trip in a cream singlet as she snapped a selfie from her window seat.

She styled her long brunette locks into loose curls and wore minimal makeup, including mascara and peach lipstick.

She also shared an image to Instagram Stories of her Virgin boarding pass.

Last month, Ruby was due to fly from Byron Bay to Sydney on a 5pm flight, but a technical issue caused the plane, flight JQ461, to be delayed.

The budget airline asked travellers to stay put while waiting for an engineer, and told passengers the new departure time would likely be about 7.30pm.

But Ruby and her travel companion left the airport to grab a bite to eat at a beachside restaurant, leaving passengers waiting on the tarmac for 30 minutes for the pair to return.

Ruby was then heckled by passengers after they eventually boarded the plane, before slamming the airline upon arrival in Sydney for allowing her to be ‘bullied’.

Another woman boarded the plane even later than Ruby, and immediately apologised to passengers who had been told not to make any comments to her.

Jetstar released a statement on Tuesday saying they ‘kept customers informed’ throughout the delay, and asked them ‘not to leave the airport should the flight be able to get away ahead of the revised time.’

Ruby claimed there were a number of other passengers who left the airport and arrived after the rescheduled departure time.

‘It’s just crazy now,’ the mother-of-two said following the airline’s response.

‘This is so minor this s***. I actually think it’s a joke and it’s annoying that it has to waste so much of my time.

‘Jetstar made a complete joke of themselves. They let that harassment happen,’ she said during an Instagram Live video.
