Patrick Mahomes PROPOSES to girlfriend Brittany Matthews moments after own Super Bowl ring ceremony

Moments after NFL star Patrick Mahomes received his hard earned Super Bowl ring, he gave an even more meaningful ring to his longtime girlfriend Brittany Matthews while popping the question in an incredibly romantic proposal.

The 24-year-old Kansas City Chiefs quarterback popped the question to his high school sweetheart Brittany, 25, shortly after he and his teammates received their bling during a ceremony at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City on Tuesday night.

Patrick took to social media to share the newly-engaged couple’s happy news – while posting an image of the stunning, and very large, diamond he proposed with.  

The star quarterback surprised Brittany at Arrowhead Stadium with a stunning set-up that included an intricate floral arrangement and a bright sign that read, ‘Will you marry me’ in lights.

After Patrick got down on one knee the two enjoyed a romantic outdoor dinner, before sharing the joyful news with their friends and followers on social media. 

‘My heart is so full!’ Brittany wrote while sharing an image of their candlelit dinner table. 

‘I love this man so incredibly much and today was so so special! Couldn’t imagine this day being anymore perfect!’

Patrick meanwhile posted a photo of Brittany’s stunning diamond ring on his Instagram Stories, while jokingly captioning it: ‘Ring szn.’  

The impressive accessory features two diamond-encrusted bands that hold a very large emerald-cut diamond.

Although the couple has shared little information about the ring’s design, the dazzling diamond looks as though it is more than a match for Patrick’s Super Bowl ring – all of which feature ‘10.5 carats of gemstones, including 255 diamonds and 36 genuine rubies’, according to KMBC.  

What made the heartfelt embrace even more special: the couple are high school sweethearts who have been dating since the 10th grade.

Moments after the final ticks of the game clock and the confetti fell from the rafters, Mahomes picked up his ladylove for a full-body embrace, complete with her legs wrapped firmly around 6ft 3in frame.

The two stared into each other’s eyes, said a few brief words, and then shared a number of smooches.

High school sweethearts Mahomes and Matthews have been together for over eight years, with Matthews — a personal trainer and former soccer player — supporting Mahomes since the beginning, back when Mahomes was still playing high school baseball.

Like Mahomes, Matthews is from Whitehouse, Texas, where she was raised by mother Diana Massey and father Scott Matthews.

She attended Whitehouse High School, which is where she and Mahomes met and started dating as teens.

Their earliest Instagram photo together is from December 2011, in which Matthews sits on Mahomes’ lap and refers to his as her best friend — but the pair didn’t officially get together until March of 2012.

They were both heavily into sports in their high school days, with Matthews cheerleading and playing soccer and Mahomes doing both football and soccer.

In throwback snaps, she is seen cheering him on at games, wearing his jersey at a baseball game and referring to him lovingly as ‘my little pitcher.’

She was there as he excelled at football, too, rooting for him from the stands.  

‘She has been supportive of me in whatever I do even before I played quarterback in high school,’ Mahomes told Utterly Patriots in 2016. ‘She has been my No. 1 fan since the beginning. Her support means the world to me.’
