Phoebe Burgess get a fright as her four-year-old daughter Poppy jumps on her back

Phoebe Burgess got the fright of her life when her daughter Poppy snuck up on her on Thursday and jumped on her back . 

The 32-year-old former football WAG was taking selfies at home when her firstborn appeared on camera. 

Phoebe shared a short video of herself adjusting her hair in front of the camera before the cheeky four-year-old launched herself at her mother in a surprise attack.

A visibly shocked Phoebe let out a scream, before a smiling Poppy pulled her backwards onto the couch.

The video then abruptly cut out right at the moment Phoebe began to fall backwards, her right arm flailing about in an attempt to catch her balance.

‘Finding your light… with kids…,’ she captioned the post. 

In addition to Poppy, Phoebe also shares son Billy, two, with her ex-husband, former rugby league footballer Sam Burgess. 

The couple split in September 2019 after nearly four years of marriage, and are believed to have finalised their divorce in December. 

Meanwhile, Phoebe also underwent back surgery in December, and shared photos of her recovery on Instagram at the time.    

‘It’s day two following yet another procedure to get some relief from the muscle spasms associated with spinal injuries (in time for the heavy lifting of holiday season),’ she wrote. 

Phoebe has previously spoken about her battle with chronic back pain, which began with a skiing accident in 2012 that ‘changed her spine forever’.

Phoebe said she ‘didn’t listen’ to her body post-surgery or follow her doctors’ advice, instead continuing to play tennis, ski and run ‘every morning on concrete’.   

After ignoring the recommendations of her specialist, she spent ‘weeks in hospital, unable to move’. 

‘Two children and countless procedures, injections, scans and surgeries later, I live in chronic pain,’ she admitted.

She added: ‘It’s taken me years to acknowledge and accept my diagnosis.’
