Pioneer Woman Ree Drummond prepares to throw daughter’s wedding OUTSIDE during 23mph Oklahoma winds

Ree Drummond and family are getting ready to celebrate eldest daughter Alex’s marriage on their family ranch outside of Pawhuska, Oklahoma.

The Pioneer Woman was thrilled to throw a party for friends and family, especially after husband Ladd is on the mend after breaking his neck in a terrifying car crash caused by high winds last month.

The wind would be the cookbook queen’s enemy again at the wedding, which was being held outside on the remote cattle ranch in the middle of Oklahoma’s most gusty season.

‘Um. We’re having an outdoor wedding. On the ranch. In Oklahoma. In early May,’ the home expert told followers while showing off a tent in the middle of a sprawling field. ‘What could possibly go wrong??’

Overcoming the elements: Pioneer Woman Ree Drummond wondered how high winds on  the Oklahoma plains were going to affect her daughter’s outdoor wedding as she shared Instagrams from the set-up at the family ranch on Monday

The next shot on her Instagram Story showed Ree trying to wrap her head around the situation as she made her way to the wedding spot.

‘Me, first driving upon the tent, trying to calculate the level of Oklahoma sustained winds it can withstand,’ she wrote while using a math equation filter on the selfie.

Despite the challenges, the mother-of-four was absolutely over-the-moon for her eldest, who was marrying fiancé Mauricio Scott.

Ree shared a cute shot of Alex flaunting her sparkler and wrote: ‘These two aren’t worried though.’

‘Cause they’ve got a peaceful, easy feelin’,’ she went on, adding: ‘(And that’s a great way to be.’)

While things got set up, Drummond bided her time by trying out new hairstyles.

Sharing a black and white selfie, she asked fans: ‘Half up, half down?’ and added ‘I’m just playing with hair styles and my basset hounds.’

But then it was back to the field, where Ree compared her nerves to a trembling flag bent on top of the tent.

‘I am this flag,’ she wrote. ‘A little off. But holding steady.’

Then she gave followers a glimpse into last week’s set-up, when the wind was blowing at 15mph.

The tent looked sturdy, but still hadn’t been tested against 23mph gusts like today.

It wasn’t quite clear if Ree’s husband Ladd was helping organize or still taking things easy as he recovers from a shocking car crash on the family property last month.

Ladd, 51, and nephew Caleb, 21, were each driving a Himmat Fire Truck when they collided head-on after winds caused visibility to decrease, with Caleb reportedly ejected 70 feet from the truck, since neither man was wearing a seat belt.

After the accident, which took place on March 10, both men were taken to the St. John Medical Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Caleb was admitted in critical condition with head, arm, leg and internal injuries, according to the report by Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

Ree revealed in a March 15 blog post that both Ladd and Caleb were responding to a fire on the ranch when the accident happened.

Ladd’s family are prominent cattle ranchers in the Osage County-area, owning their land for four-generations.

While Ladd initially refused help, he was taken to the hospital after learning his neck was broken in two different places, which was nearly catastrophic.

‘Rather than wish the accident didn’t happen, I’m gonna live in a state of gratitude—not just for the guys being okay, but also for the love, kindness, and prayers of so many of you,’ Ree wrote on her blog.

‘Thank you all so very much for reaching out to our family and for keeping us in your hearts through the past several days. I can’t tell you how much it means to all of us, and I’ll never, ever forget it!’ she added.
