Fox has given the green light for its sole comedy project this pilot season, handing over a straight-to-series order for Pivoting.
The project stars Maggie Q, Ginnifer Goodwin and Eliza Coupe, with The Hollywood Reporter‘s sources revealing the order was for 10 episodes.
The project was originally picked up to pilot last year, though the network extended the cast options once production was impacted due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The half-hour single-camera comedy series revolves around the lives of three women in the aftermath of the death of their childhood best friend.
‘Faced with the reality that life is short, in desperate attempts to find happiness, they make a series of impulsive, ill-advised and self-indulgent decisions, strengthening their bond proving it’s never too late to screw up your life,’ reads the series description.
The cast also includes Tommy Dewey, JT Neal and Marcello Julian Reyes, with Liz Astroff (The Connors, 2 Broke Girls) writing the pilot script.

Astroff will also serve as executive producer on the project, which is a co-production between Warner Bros. Television and Fox Entertainment.
Other executive producers include Aaron Kaplan and Dana Honor for Kapital Entertainment plus Tristram Shapeero, who directed the pilot episode.
Pivoting was the last pilot at Fox that was awaiting a decision from the network, with its new Fall 2021-2022 lineup now set.

The broadcast network also issued straight-to-series order for the country music drama Monarch and Lee Daniels’ Our Kind of People.
Community creator Dan Harmon will also debut an untitled animated comedy series on the network sometime in 2022.
